Crete & Santorin
Schedule
I found out this stay thanks to Promovacances, 8 days -7 nights at hotel Europa Resort 3* all included.
Flight tickets, included, concern Lyon-Heraklion with Air Méditerranée. (533 an adult) 1h time difference.
Taking off from Lyon at 18h45 on Monday, landing in Heraklion at 22h50 (21h50 French time).
The hotel is 60km far from the airport. We got our room on Tuesday at 1h30 am !
Back next Monday. Taking bus at 9h55 in hotel, taking off at 13h15, landing in Nantes, taking off again, and landing in Lyon at 18h.
Finally at 20h I got home. In other words, only 6 days for holiday, even though we spend 7 nights in that hotel.

Nothing special to say about it, except flights schedule.
Hotel
It stands in Panormo, about 28km East from Rethymnon and 60 km West from Heraklion Heraklion on North coast.
This hotel is exceptional : location , welcome, cleanness. The room is spacious ( ~25m²) with a wide terrace.
A large pool (depth 1m60 to 3m) and a small one (depth 70cm) : keep an eye on children.
I did appreciate the absence of activities inside hotel. You can listen music only at the bar close to the pool. Nadia and Helena, the barmaids, work contentedly and cheerfulness.
Georgios, the waiter, is a real gem : kindness, helpfulness at any time. He speaks an understanding french.
The food is greek and good. The cook and his daughter do their best.
Island tour
I rented a car by Alianthos. I got a Skoda Fabia ( 205 all included 6 days ) hotel delivered.
I suggest renting a car with some engine power because the island is hilly.
Gas is expensive : 175 a liter, unleaded 95 !
You could not see the whole island in 6 days. So many spots. As in continental Greece, driving is a little bit special.

This is a must see (134) ( speedboat and bus ). 2h30 crossing.
2 towns to visit : Oia (North) , capital Fira and Kamari beach (South East).
Conclusion
Because of my short stay, I just have visited West part of Crete : I'll come bak !The Europa Resort hotel in Panormo is the best I stayed and it's only 3* !
